When does my animal need an ACVECC Diplomate?

• For pet owners, having access to an ACVECC-certified veterinarian means having the assurance your pet is in the hands of an expert during times of crisis. Whether your pet has been hit by a car, ingested a toxic substance, or is suffering from a sudden severe illness, these veterinary specialists are prepared to provide the highest level of care. The presence of board certified specialists in veterinary emergency and critical care in veterinary hospitals or clinics signifies the facility is capable of delivering advanced emergency care that can make all the difference in the outcome of your pet's health.

When do I have to submit a Major Change form for my Residency Training Facility? 

• Any time there is a major change within the residency program, this form must be filed with the ACVECC office within 15 days of the event. See page 9-10 in the Residency Training Standards for more details. 

What if I already paid for the exam, but I can’t sit for it? (ex. personal issues, not credentialed, etc.)

• In the event that you can’t sit for the exam, but have already registered and paid for it, we will honor your fee for the following year’s exam.
